Strings and White Chocolate

Strings and White Chocolate

Attented the recital by Jason Carter and the local indian Veena player last night at esplanade. Jason Carter is a harp guitarist. The recital was a unique collaboration of the two ancient instrument. Enjoyed quite a lot of the songs by the harp guitar, like Finlandia. As for the veena, it was a little duller than a sitar, and i wasn't too attracted to it. Haha.

Oh yes, i'm starting to love recitals more than concerts. There's always a qna session and it's more casual as well. Generally, you feel relax, enjoy the performance more thoroughly, and get to know more about the pieces played (reminds me of tanaka's recital quite some time ago).

Headed to the starbucks at Raffles city hall to pick up a white chocolate mocha and i met Jane! She was working there and she gave me the drink free. She's always so nice.

Back in Hai Sing band, though we weren't very very close, i remember times when the trombone section and French horn section come together to play and gossip. Since our batch were small, we knew everyone. I remember when i went to taiwan in 2007, i met Jane at the boarding area. We were taking the same plane. When she knew i was going there for the first time with other 2 female friends without joining a tour, she insisted that i take down her number, in case if any thing happens, i have someone to seek help from in a foreign country.

So sweet of her!

It was a nice evening with the strings and the comfort from the white chocolate. :)
